By blocking the kitchen or crate train?
We'll be getting our puppy in a couple of weeks. About 4 days a week, the dog will be Only 5 hours to 7 hours. There is a long time to be in a cage? I was thinking of blocking off the kitchen with a gate, then would not the home race but nothing to hurt them in the kitchen as a puppy in the cables. I'd even put those caps on the ports that are used for children. We also tile ceramic for easy cleaning. So my question is: what do boys with their experience I think that blocking the kitchen for the puppy is a good idea or bad? With all great answers! I am going to crate train him.
I think it's a bad idea if you want to be your puppy home trained and independent. Not is actually a very long-tooth for a dog to be in a cage, until they leave it in an appropriate manner, viz. before you go and just get home. Contrary to what many think, Crate Training is very good for the dog, and you. You see, come to think of it as their home. Which helps them to become independent, which is very important. Leaving a mess in the kitchen, not a good idea for both in-House Training. Moreover, even if you do not see, your puppy will be able to find something to get into. I left my dog in an empty room, just because I was going to be gone for a few minutes. I came back and had chewed the window sill. So imagine coming home and Your cupboards are chewed. And they say that the puppy gets really bad because he ate all this wood, and died. It would suck. and you can avoid all this mess with a cash. 90% of the time the dog is in a cage, he is going to be read. So when you get home, they take a long walk to give him exercise. Also, what to do is put my peanut butter and treats in a kong and freeze the night before. A couple of hours just trying to get the peanut butter. Hope this helps. Good luck!
