Just got a mini schnauzer – had to sleep in his cage?
We just got a Miniature Schnauzer by ASPCA – It 's been with them for a couple weeks. They gave us a box, and a bunch of goodies. It was previously owned by an old lady with Alzheimer's, and needs to be re-domesticated. This is his first night – we should put it to sleep in his cage? I'm not sure what to do when it needs attention by the ward house-broken. PS – It 's very quiet and very polite dog. He has not barked or misbehaved at all! Thanks!
You can, just to test the dog to see what he does. It will not hurt. At least if it is in a cage know where, but if it does at home and take some investigation. Or you can try a case for a week, will not harm the dog. We have had our puppy in a crate for a while 'as several months before you let him sleep on the bed XD You can try, though, I would just in case:) At least until you are sure you can trust the dog to keep him and let you know when to go outside. If I would not play by ear and see how it goes. He's gone a week without a mess then I would try it out. You can always put it back but if you do it at first, at least he will be used if he has to go back again.
